Holy Humor Sunday
Sunday, April 11 at 10:00am
Back by popular demand....
On the Sunday after Easter, following the seriousness and somberness of Lent, we will be letting our hair down - way down - for our annual Holy Humor Sunday. This is a service of humor, fun, and fellowship, based on the same roots as April Fool's Day. April Fool's Day began as a celebration of the "Great Deciever" (i.e. the Devil) being deceived by Jesus Christ, when Jesus defeated death and rose from the grave. When Jesus was on the cross and then laid in the tomb, it appeared as if evil had won over good, but then on Easter the tomb is empty with the triumph of good over evil.
Check back here by April Fool's Day to see this year's special theme.
First-Aid & CPR
Saturday, May 8, 2010 from 9:00am to 4:30pm
We will be hosting an American Red Cross First-Aid & CPR training event. The CPR portion will include training to perform CPR on adults, children, and infants.
Cost:
The cost set by the Red Cross is $85.00 per person.
The cost for non-members is therefore $85.00 per person.
The cost for St. Vincent UCC members is $35.00 per person.
(The church is providing funding to supplement the cost for members).
A non-refundable deposit of $35.00 payable to "St. Vincent UCC" is due on Sunday, April 25.
The deposit is non-refundable, because the Red Cross will charge the church a fee if too few people attend per instructor needed. If you cannot attend, the deposit can be refunded or transfered, only if there is someone else who would be taking your place.
Advanced registration is required to ensure enough instructors, equipment, and materials are present. To register please call 610-933-4243, e-mail the church office, or use the sign up sheet in the rear of the sanctuary. Space is limited for this activity.
