"Friendship Trek: Jesus, Our Forever Friend" was our 2008 Vacation Bible School theme.  We spent the week in an camp-like setting celebrating the wonders of God's great Creation. The children learned about the qualities of good friends, sang awesome songs, played fun games, ate yummy snacks, and discovered how Jesus is our best friend ever!

In conjunction with the VBS program, the children collected donations in support of Heifer International.  Heifer provides animals and training to families around the world with a goal of overcoming poverty and making lasting improvements in their quality of life.  The children set a goal of collecting $250 to buy a water buffalo.  Their coins really added up and, with the help of our members, they were able to meet - and well exceed - their $250 goal.  Contributions totaled $460, which enabled the purchase of not only the water buffalo, but also a goat, flocks of duckings, geese, and chicks, and a beehive!  So exciting!
